| Re: TIGERBEAT presented by Stroh's Some of the new guys pitch with more power and that's what sells right now. With his years in the league money was the issue. Quit saying he can't get guys out. I wish he was in the bully. |

| Re: TIGERBEAT presented by Stroh's I don't know what's happened to him, but after that strong start last year and the injury something is lacking. I mean the guy's ERA is around 8. And he's not going deep into the games. What other indicator do we need? Cleveland just signed Westbrook to a long-term deal and guy is stinking up the joint to no end. Same thing could be said about Lee. Miller, who is filling in for Maroth, puts up better numbers. Granted, he's young and will have his ups and downs, but I'd take his better numbers and development over Maroth any day.

As for the Tigers, they worry me. If their starting pitching continues to be unreliable, they might be in a fight -- for the Wild Card. Instead of running out of steam like they did toward the end of last season, perhaps they'll get out toward the end of the season and carry that momentum into the playoffs. As it stands now, they desperately need Zumaya back. I think they should trade for a starting pitcher, too. Roy Oswalt? Of course, I'm worried about what they would have to give up. I'm worried about Rogers and Robertson. You don't need great pitching from your 5 (Robertson), but Kenny doesn't have much left IMO. Hope I'm wrong. But Kenny ain't getting any younger. Why not make a deal to get Oswalt? Give the Astros any prospects they want along with Infante, who can play 2B after Biggio retires. Imagine a staff with Bonderman, Verlander, Oswalt and Miller?

| Re: TIGERBEAT presented by Stroh's I was in the D last weekend, but couldn't find any tickets. I thought about going to todays' game in Anaheim, but since the team is in a funk, I will just peak in from the tube. 15 hits last night and still lost because of bogus pitching Gonna be a long summer if they can't get the Gambler and that 4th man in the rotation back on target. Not sure about Nate...he looks like the designated lost each week. |
