LeFlore was a hell of a story. In and out of jail.

Hopefully Mesa and Rodney can fill in meanwhile. Maybe starters will pitch a bit better and put a few more innings in reducing bullpen's load.

Some encouraging news from the minors:
Quote:
The Detroit Tigers announced late Tuesday that their 2006 first round draft pick, Andrew Miller, has been added to Erie's roster and will make his first start on Sunday, May 13 in Akron.

Miller has made seven starts with the Class-A Lakeland Flying Tigers in 2007 compiling a record of 1-4 with a 3.48 ERA. His best outing of the season came on April 16 at Fort Myers when he tossed a complete game allowing one unearned run on three hits. In that game, Miller struck out six without issuing a walk.

Only 1 team in baseball has scored more runs than the Tigers this year... the Yankees.

And we have taken the top spot in the division.

The hitting is going to have to carry the team, at least for a while. The pitchers are struggling and Bondo is going to miss his next start so they bring up a guy from minors.

Re: TIGERBEAT presented by Stroh's

Good night for Verlander. Gave the bullpen the time they needed to rest. Prior to that the startes have been struggling somewhat. Mesa has been bombarded, does the guy still have anything left to give? I mean he's over 40. We gave him a lot of money, so hopefully he can put it together. Maggs is just unbelievable so far this year. The guy has been an RBI machine. Inge has warmed up quite a bit. Pudge finally put together a few hits, but he's been struggling throwing out base stealers. Maybe it is pitching that is slow delivering the ball, but so far the numbers have been way below his normal production. All in all not too bad. Still in 1st.

Well, this hasn't taken long:

The Official Site of Major League Baseball: News: Major League Baseball News

Quote:
The Tigers will call up first-round draft pick Andrew Miller to make his first Major League start Friday night against the Cardinals at Comerica Park.
Miller will take the place of Jeremy Bonderman, who will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with continued blister problems on his right middle finger.
