Damn, this was in the game notes.

Anyone know the story behind it? I remember pictures of Cecil with his cute little kid back in the day. Wonder what happened?

"Fielder played in Detroit for the first time Tuesday, but not in the stadium where he spent much of his childhood. Fielder was a frequent visitor to the home clubhouse at Tiger Stadium when his father Cecil was with the team between 1990-96. Prince Fielder, who is estranged from his father, did not speak to the media before the game".

Hopefully. Remember the last Tiger to hurl a no hitter (Jack Morris in 1984) led his team to the World Series title that same year.

I wonder that too. Cecil seemed like a very nice likable guy.
