Don't forget to set your lineups for Monday today.

Even though some guys played last week and the two weeks are combined on Yahoo, you still have the option of making lineup changes for next week.

Re: PF.com Fantasy Baseball 2008

I'm in another non-PF.com fantasy baseball league and just made a trade that I was looking for your thoughts on.

I follow baseball the least out of any of the sports, so I'm wondering what you guys think of the trade (although I guess I should have asked for your input before making the trade, but I just thought of asking now! haha)

I was offered:
Kevin Youkilis
José Valverde
Brad Lidge

For:
David Wright

I have 2 quality 3Bs in Wright and Ryan Braun. I missed the draft so it, so there are some holes on my team that need filling. My SP and RP are weak. I don't even have a closer on my roster.

So I countered with:
Ryan Braun
Jeremie Guthrie (I threw him in to even the trade, since I'd have to drop someone anyway. I picked him up as a free age
nt a few days ago.)

For:
Brad Penny
Jose Velverde

This deal was accepted by the other manager.

So what do you guys think? Fair trade or did I get shafted? The deal was accepted within about 30 minutes of me proposing it, so I'm a bit worried I got robbed! haha

I'm a huge Ryan Braun fan, Jammer. This guy has it all and if he stays injury free he's going to be incredible. He was in the minors much of last year and still posted incredible numbers.

There are very few players I would trade him for. You got good players in return, but personally I wouldn't have done it. You know your team's needs though, so don't stress it.

Re: PF.com Fantasy Baseball 2008

If you look at last year's rankings:

Penny 101st in MLB
Valverde 75th

versus

Braun 18th
Guthrie 181st

Guthrie is a throw-away, so you basically traded a fantasy stud in Braun for two solid guys in Penny and Valverde. Nobody knows how things will turn out at this point, but you may regret this one if Braun stays healthy. I'm always confused when trying to figure in the Canadian exchange rate anyways...

I think the Canadian rate is like a dime on a dollar or something like that.

I heard Valverde has a really mean slapshot. I don't know how this will help you in baseball, but it's impressive all the same.

Re: PF.com Fantasy Baseball 2008

My thinking was that I already had David Wright at 3B and my SP and RP was REALLY weak, so I was trading from a position of strength to fill some positions of weakness.

I think that Braun is the best of the 3 players as far as stats go, but I already have a big stat guy at 3B in Wright.

Hey man, you don't need to justify the move to us.

But, let me know if you want to make a deal soon...

(Can you feel the love Jammer?)

As long as your country continues to print money from nothing, the exchange rate is looking pretty good! Almost par!

Just don't get as crazy as the Zimbabweans did. I heard it is $25 million for a cup of coffee, and they are currently running 1.5 million % inflation.

Yeah, yeah.

I definitely didn't think that I won the trade, but I felt as though it was one that I needed to make to improve my pitching. I got a top tier starter and a top tier closer in return for my 2nd best 3B.

Judging by how quickly it was accepted, and from the comments here, I probably could have got a bit more out of the deal for him.
