| Re: SPRING TRAINING 08 went to the tigers/yankees game today in lakeland - very hot today. nice stadium. verlander got rocked in the 1st and 2nd innings, but oh well. it was cool to see the opening day pitcher & starting lineup. cabrera is a big boy, and hessman is huge too. there were a fair amount of yankee fans, and an attendance record was set with 9,660 fans. good times. |

| Re: SPRING TRAINING 08 Now that a lot of our hitters are 30+ at bats into the pre season, I thought I'd take a look at how the averages are shaking out. Obviously, these are all over the place due to the relatively small sample size, but it's still fun to look at. 1) Polanco- 19/40- .475 (on fire) 2) W. Ramirez 7/16- .438 3) Pudge 15/35- .429 with 6HR's (great news if he hits well this year). 4) T. Perez- 11/26- .423 5) R. Santiago- 11/26- .423 6) B. Clevlen- 13/31- .419 7) F. Guzman- 11/27- .407 8) Mags- .366 9) Cabrera- .300 10) Inge- .300 (this would also be unreal if he could hit .280+) 11) Guillen- .295 The real bummer is Sheff at .148. Coming off an injury with some court dates to worry about. I'm sure he'll come around. The good news seems to be that Pudge and Inge are hitting well and all those backups are hitting for average. We need all the scrubs to be focused on making contact and getting on base by any means necessary this year.

| Re: SPRING TRAINING 08 We nitpick a lot with the end of the Pistons' roster, so here is goes with the Tigers! Brent Clevlen. 30 seconds with Brent Clevlen Quote:
Today they decided to send him back to the minors. What did he need to do to make the team? Did they just bring him up to give him a taste and it wasn't really a tryout? Last year he only got 10 at bats in the big leagues and got 1 hit. In 2006, he got a lot of at bats and hit .282 with 3HR with a slg of .641. Seems to me like he should be playing for some team at this point.
