Miner may be the one to go from the bullpen. Willis will make at least 2 rehab starts for Toledo. I guess we'll see after that. That gives Leyland more time to evaluate Robertson and Galarraga and see what they can do. As far as Shef, I'd give him more time just because the upside is huge and because Polanco and Grandy will get good pitches to hit when he's in the lineup.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

As poorly as GS is hitting, he is still getting walked a fair amount. OBP is .340ish.

So, he's not hurting us as badly as you would think when you see his BA in the 100's.

The point is he won't last 30 more games. He's one powerful wiff from blowing out his shoulder again. We can't depend on him.

As for Justin V. his velocity is way down. Leyland aint happy about that.

Not good ones. I think out starting pitchers' ERA is the worst in the majors. The Twins announcers said that during the game last night. Frankly, we have an abundance of average pitchers. Verlander set himself apart and now he's coming back to the pack.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

Well last night was a chance to erase the horrible 0-7 start, get back to .500 and literally start the season over after 30 games.....but they will have to wait a few moire game to for that.

Gallargas comes back to earth, and I see the relief pitching is still suspect. Guess we can't face the Yankees and Rangers every week.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

Tigers offense wakes up and puts up a 6-spot in the top of the 1st. Rogers has something to work with.

Tigers lose 7-6??
To bad the bats went silent the rest of the game..and of course, neither Rodgers or Verlander can last past the 5th or 6th inning of any game.

Does anybody recall that the Tigers swept the Yankees last week or is that a forgotten memory now after getting swept by the Twins....

Like I said yesterday, when do we play the Yankees and Rangers again??

This was a bad loss. We aren't out of the woods yet.
We owned the Twinks in 06.

This entire series was a bad series. Twins less Hunter less Santana less Silva less Garza with whole bunch of young kids and Tigers get swept. They need to get it together quickly. I know that the rest of the division sucks and all teams are like within 2-3 games of each other, but this is the time to take the lead.
