Yep taking 2 of 3 would have actually put us in first place but being swept threw us back in the basement. In fact if we had swept, we would have been leading the division by 1.5 games, but instead we are 3 back of first place Twins.

Four at home with Bosox...need to take three of those and take 2/3 of from the Yanks next weekend if we are to seize control of the division.

I wouldn't count on that. BoSox have found their groove again and Yanks playing better.

I know ..for awhile I thought we were playing better too, but everyone should get better as the season progresses barring injuries.

WDFN is saying that Leyland is going to make some "drastic" changes starting with this series. He is not happy.

What the tigers need is a real stopper on the mound to provide relief, but Afllalo looks more like a second baseman. Maybe we can get Fabio out there on mound?

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

Maybe Brandon should try his hand off the mound?

Then we get the benefit of the cannon arm and no bat.

I remember watching a game when I was little where Tom Brookens was put in to pitch. It was one of those games where we were getting pounded and didn't want to completely chew up the bullpen.

It's possible that he did it a few times, but I only remember than one. I'll try to look it up.

EDIT: I can't find that info anywhere. baseball reference doesn't even have it. Now I am starting to think that I may be halucinating. Maybe it was another 3rd baseman? Does anyone else remember this?
