| Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD Well another Verlander start another Tiger loss. He pitched well enough to win, but the Tiger bats have been silenced by those same KC pitchers that beat them the first 3 games of the season and they got shut out 2-0. |

| Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD I love your optimism, BL. I wish I could share it. Two runs scored in 18 innings against KC in the past two games. I have a tough time getting excited about that. I've never seen a team underperform so badly. Again, however, maybe we expected too much and failed to realize the pitching wasn't so good. |

The pitching has been decent the last two games...good enough for two Tiger victories if they had just scored 4 runs in each game which they are capable of.. |

| Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD OK, but overall the pitching has been pretty miserable -- the starting pitching in particular. Team ERA is the worst in the bigs and their WHIP is close to the bottom. Oakland, a team with half the payroll of Detroit's, has the best ERA. But maybe it's coming around. |

When we get the pitching the bats are silent; when we get the hitting the pitchers are gas station attendants. We need to figure a way to get the two on the same page. Maybe Leyland needs to turn his batting order upside down. Lead off with the number 9 hitter and let Granderson bat last? |
