| Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD Well, I see our Tigers found yet another way to lose last night. Here are some moves I'd like to see made: 1. Release Sheffield. 2. DH Guillen and don't let him play the field anymore. 3. Re-insert Inge at 3B; keep Cabrera at 1B. As much as I hate Inge's bat, he is part of the heart and soul of the 2006 team and the team misses that leadership on the field. Our defense is pretty poor to boot. 4. Play Santiago at 2B and SS at least three games a week total and lead him off. Give both Renteria and Polanco some time off to ponder their .260-.270 BAs. 5. Move Granderson down in the lineup. Grandy is awful right now, and he is doing nothing to begin rallies. 6. Release Miner and move Galarraga to the 'pen. Galarraga can be the long-inning relief guy. It looks like this team will need it. 7. Get Joyce some more at-bats just to see if he can stick. 8. Trade Thames before the deadline for some minor-league pitching. We don't need anymore right-handed hitters and he should have a shot to go somewhere he can play more than once every two weeks. 9. Fire the hitting coach. The pitching is a huge problem but that was expected. The hitting, however, was expected to make up somewhat for the poor pitching, and it hasn't. Not saying firing the hitting coach will help but something must be tried.
