If you want to do that, fire Leyland, too. They're buddies and I doubt Leyland would take a Hernandez firing lightly.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

Tigers laid another egg as Robertson certainly pitched well enough to win. There's too much pressure on the pitching staff who doesn't expect much from the offense nowadays.

Tigers gave up an average 3.3 runs per game in the three game series and still lost 2 of the games?? Those high price batters should be a shame of themselves

This is the main problem with this team. The hitters are pressing and the pitching is trying to throw shutouts to compensate. It is putting too much pressure on them so they are walking batters and and putting themselves in "high-pressure" situations and failing. They are a staff that "should" be pitching to contact but can't afford to with this offense.

Right now it is the hitting. When they managed to score runs pitching was atrocious. They just can't put them both together.

Its the team and it may be over ...unless they can stay within five games of the division lead thru the Allstar game and turn it around then.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

Well this weekend SUCKED. First, they lost my luggage in Denver. Come to find out they send it to PHIladelphia, instead of PHOenix. I asked them why would they think I'd come from the East Coast ALLLL the way to Denver to go BACK to Philly!!???? So I went to Friday's game in the crap I wore on the plane.
First, let me say that Diamondback park is one beyoootiful setting. We sat above the 3rd base line and thechairs were comfy and majestic. The food was soso but I enjoyed my two hotdogs, fries and 2 beers. The popup dropped by Guillen and Renteria looked like a play out of Parenthood. We pitched well enough to win but ...o well.
Second, I had a great time also at saturdays game. We were 20 rows up behind first base. Great seats. Joyce had a cool home run. There were about 25 Tiger Fans with us and we OWNED the stadium. We booed everytime someone in a Dback jersey stood up. It was funny. Todd Jones gave us gas again, but after we won, it seemed better than a Stanley Cup.
I finally got my luggage last night 'round 10:00PM. Tigers lose 4-0.

17-27

...still just CANT GET RIGHT!
