Yes, like me, the Detroit Tigers' current third baseman would prefer that Jim Leyland be the person to let the world in on the little secret that he's battling hemorrhoids.
"He can hardly move — he's got hemorrhoids so bad. He's been playing with hemorrhoids that probably need to be lanced. He probably shouldn't have been out there (third base on Monday) ... he could hardly walk."
Yikes ... and here we thought that playing for the Tigers was embarrassing enough.

Unbelieveable, he can barely walk.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

Can't they just keep that stuff secret? I don't want to know that. Call it a groin injury or something.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

The Tigers were 2 outs from a pitcher getting a complete game in a Tiger uniform and it would have been the first since Verlanders no hitter last June.. But Gallarraga gives up a two run dinger in the bottom of the ninth and of course JL pulls him to bring in Todd J to retire the last 2 batters.

At least one Detroit team won away on the road last night.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

We've now had several strong pitching performances in a row. Could be a turning point.

Also, Inge was looking very solid at 3rd base.

Inge made two plays at third base the other day that Guillen doesn't make. He is solid down there and needs to be there every day (except when Pudge needs a break).

I am hoping that the pitching has turned the corner and the bats heat up with the weather.

Bonderman has a blood clot. Strange that this news and the news about Franzen's blood clot come out on the same day. What's Ilitch putting in his pizza's?

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

Guess which team has the longest winning streak in the major league?

TIGERS!!!

We've given up 2 runs in the last 3 games. 1 by Verlander. 1 by Rogers. And tonight 7 scoreless for our ace, Gallaraga.

We are only 2.5 games out of 2nd in our division. The Sox are catchable. We just need this pitching to keep it up.

Hopefully hitting can maintain this pace. Maybe Cabrera woke up, finally. And hopefully Granderson can get it going. That would be big.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD

Told ya that once Willis was sent down to the A league, it woke up the pitching staff feeling that they could be next....
Dodgers have now been shut out two nights in a row, so we may have caught a team struggling and need to take advantage of it.
