Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD...Marcus Thames #33 bats about .250, been with the Tigs since 2004 ---He hit 10 dongs in his last 11 at bats---. Only Mark McGuire had a longer streak. Needless to say the guy has been carrying the team during this win streak. Nice come from behind win yesterday 7-5 over Padres and beat them again today 5-3 Verlander got his first road win ! ![]() Last edited by TheeTFD : 06-23-2008 at 02:10 AM.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD 10 wins out of their last 12 games. Pretty impressive including 7 and 2 vs the California National league If they can keep up at least a .700 clip the thru the end of July they could over take the Sox and the redhot Twins...The only issue right now is that they still have to overcome at least 6-7 teams ahead of them just to secure a wildcard spot. Still got time though with 87 games left.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD Dre, I think .700 is possible and would love it. But .600 from here out would get the job done. Sox just got sweep. They don't scare me. Twinks do though. We might need to take the division.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD 9 out of 14 american league teams are over .500 ball. Our goal should be to win the division. There are just too many variables and too many hot teams outside the division to worry about the wild card. I have a feeling that the wild card will finish better than us no matter how well we do. (.600 ball rest of the way gives us 88 wins - sounds about right)

To bad they won't have Bondy to assure that they get there, but if Gallaraga is for real, he and Thames might be the keys that carry the team. Leave Sheffield and Willis on the dl until we are sure they can contribute. Last edited by LA Dre : 06-23-2008 at 01:12 PM. |

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD The announcers the other day threw out the stat that our starting pitchers have about a 2.5 ERA in the last 25 starts. Now that they are rolling and we have more options in the pen, and Thames has become a stud, and Polanco is on fire, etc... things are looking up. Also, Bonine has been OK so far. I didn't get to watch Zumaya yesterday, but he looked pretty decent in his first outing. We swept the Sox and the Cubs swept the Sox. Can't ask for much more than that.

Re: TIGERS 08 SEASON THREAD Tigers have been on a roll winning 12 of their last 15 if I am not mistaken. However, the schedule was on their sice as the only decent team they beat was Sox. Other than that they dealt with the bottom dwellers. Lets see how they do against better opposition. It looks like they are on the right track, and I hope they can maintain this winning pace. Cabrera needs to get going though, they need his production.
